Eko Drive IV Lights Up Lagos with Rare Electric G-Wagon Stunt and High-Octane Luxury Car Showcase at Alliance Française

Lagos solidified its status as the heartbeat of West Africa’s automotive lifestyle this week as the fourth edition of the Eko Drive Exhibition (Eko Drive IV) transformed the Alliance Française into a sprawling gallery of horsepower, heritage, and high-tech innovation.

The event brought together an eclectic mix of car enthusiasts, premium collectors, and thrill-seekers for a celebration that has quickly become a key fixture on the city’s festive calendar. Unlike traditional trade shows, Eko Drive IV focused on “automotive storytelling,” allowing owners of rare coupes and custom-built machines to share the history and engineering secrets behind their prized possessions.

The atmosphere reached a fever pitch during a live demonstration by the new electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class. In a display of cutting-edge German engineering, the vehicle performed a flawless “G-Turn,” rotating 360 degrees on its own axis to the roar of the crowd.

“The strength of Eko Drive lies in the community we are building,” said Ademide Osunsina, the event’s Founder and Project Manager. “Seeing owners trust us with these multi-million naira machines year after year proves that there is a deep, thriving passion for car culture in Nigeria that goes beyond just transportation—it is an art form.”

The presence of Charles ‘Charly Boy’ Oputa added a layer of “Area Father” grit to the sophisticated setting. Speaking to attendees, organizers noted that the event has evolved from a simple gathering into a respected movement. Co-founder Sanjo Morgan highlighted that a primary goal of the 2025 edition was to foster unity within the industry and promote safer driving habits among the youth and the growing millennial car-owner demographic.

From the vintage curves of classic heritage cars to the aggressive lines of modern Ferraris and Lamborghinis, the exhibition provided a rare 360-degree view of automotive history. As the curtains fall on this year’s show, Creative Director Imran Claud-Ennin hinted that Eko Drive will continue to expand its focus on lifestyle expression, aiming to put Nigeria firmly on the global map of automotive tourism in 2026.
