Turaki Faction Blasts Police as Wike’s Loyalists Seize PDP Secretariat; Factional War Explodes in Abuja as Wadata Plaza Is Finally Unsealed

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has “flipped the script” on its internal crisis, moving from the courtroom back to the physical battleground of its national headquarters. The long-standing “Tsunami” of leadership disputes reached a new peak as the police finally unsealed Wadata Plaza. The “Solution” for the Nyesom Wike-backed faction was a swift entry into the secretariat, but for the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led group, it was a moment of betrayal.

In a stinging statement issued by National Publicity Secretary Ini Ememobong, the Turaki-led NWC described the police intervention as “most shameful.” They argued that the “Renewed Hope” for a neutral police force has vanished, accusing the new Inspector General of being a “partisan tool” for the Wike-backed “APC apologists.” By allowing one faction to take over while the case is still being fought in the “digital trenches” of the Court of Appeal, the Turaki group claims the police are effectively trying to “hand-pick” the leaders of the opposition.

The roots of today’s drama go back to the disputed Ibadan Convention in November 2025, which a Federal High Court recently declared a “nullity.” While the Wike camp celebrated today’s takeover as a victory for the “rule of law,” the governors-backed faction warned that this “one-party compulsory drive” is a threat to the entire Republic. “Though pains may tarry in the night, joy and liberation will certainly come,” the Turaki group told their supporters, promising to take fresh legal steps to reclaim the building.

As the Wike-aligned faction settles into the offices at Wadata Plaza, the atmosphere in Abuja remains tense. The “Drill or Drop” reality of PDP politics means that for now, the keys to the kingdom belong to those with the police at their back. For the average party member, the message is one of total confusion: the PDP now has a secretariat that is open, but a leadership that is more divided than ever.
