Olubadan Leads Oyo Kings to Aso Rock to Appreciate Tinubu Over Oriire Rescues and Major Road Projects

A high-powered delegation of traditional rulers from Oyo State, led by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, paid a thank-you visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking on behalf of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oba Ladoja explained that the royal fathers journeyed to the nation’s capital to express deep gratitude to the Federal Government for securing the safe return of abducted school pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

While acknowledging that traditional institutions never doubted the operational competence of security agencies, the Olubadan admitted that the safety of the captives was a major source of anxiety for the entire state until their successful rescue.

“We never doubted the capacity of the Nigerian security agencies, but there were genuine concerns about whether the victims would be recovered safely,” Oba Ladoja stated. “We are here to appreciate President Bola Tinubu and all those whose swift actions and coordination made their safe rescue possible.”

Beyond the security intervention, the royal delegation praised President Tinubu’s administration for targeting long-neglected federal infrastructure across Oyo State. The monarchs highlighted key corridors—such as the proposed dualisation of the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road, the completion of the Ogbomoso–Ilorin Road, and the strategic Badagry–Sokoto Highway passing through Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun—as vital arteries that will unlock regional economic growth.

The delegation featured prominent monarchs, including the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao; the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola; the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola; the Osi Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; the Alajawa of Ajawa, Oba Adeyeye Oyetunji; the Onigbeti of Igbeti, Oba Abioye Basiru Olalekan; and High Chief S. Otolorin representing the Soun of Ogbomoso.

Closing the session, Oba Ladoja pledged that traditional rulers across the state will actively mobilize local communities to protect federal assets, support security forces, and ensure smooth access for road construction teams working across the state.
