Ogun Deputy Governorship Candidate Honors Retired Traffic Officer with Cash Gift

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hajia ’Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, along with Chief Adenike Adebutu, recently honored retired Deputy Superintendent of Traffic, Anifat Bello, with a cash gift of N1 million. This gesture took place during a reception in Abeokuta on Sunday.

Sowunmi-Kolapo praised Bello for her dedication and professionalism during her years as a traffic officer. She described Bello, known as Aunty Anifat, as a role model for younger Nigerians and highlighted her commitment to duty as exceptional.

During the event, Sowunmi-Kolapo presented a cheque of N500,000 to Bello and encouraged other workers to follow her example of hard work. She promised that if the PDP wins the upcoming election, there would be better welfare packages for civil servants in Ogun State.

Chief Adenike Adebutu also expressed her admiration for Bello, announcing an additional N500,000 to support her. She noted Bello’s cheerful demeanor while on duty and assured that she would be part of the Adebutu administration if elected in 2027.

Other attendees, including party leaders and religious figures, praised Bello for her selflessness and dedication. They emphasized the importance of her positive attitude and integrity in public service.

Bello, visibly moved by the recognition, thanked the PDP leaders and encouraged everyone to work diligently in their roles. She expressed her happiness and gratitude for the celebration of her service.

This event follows previous honors for Bello, including recognition from the Inspector-General of Police and local community members for her commitment to her duties.
