Aisha Yesufu Urges INEC to Ensure Fair Voting in 2027 Elections

Aisha Yesufu, a leader in the Nigerian Democratic Congress, has issued a strong warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about the 2027 general elections. She stated that any attempt to manipulate the votes of Nigerians will be met with resistance.

Yesufu shared her message on X in response to comments made by Rufai Oseni, a host on Arise Television. Oseni had highlighted how Americans successfully voted against tyranny in their elections and urged INEC to improve its performance.

In her post, Yesufu emphasized the importance of accurately counting and reflecting the votes cast by Nigerians. She declared, “Whether INEC like let it do better and if INEC no like, let it not do better! This election, anyone that stands between what the people voted and what is counted will be counted!”

Her comments come as political activity increases ahead of the 2027 elections. Many opposition leaders and stakeholders are calling for INEC to conduct transparent and credible elections.
