Afe Babalola University Graduates 229 First Class Students at 13th Convocation

Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has once again affirmed its commitment to academic distinction, announcing that a remarkable 229 students will be conferred with First Class Honours at its upcoming 13th Convocation Ceremonies.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Smaranda Olarinde, made the announcement on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, during a pre-convocation press briefing. She revealed that a total of 1,841 students would be graduating across various colleges in the 2025/2026 academic session.

“This year’s ceremony, which marks our 13th convocation, is a celebration of unwavering commitment to excellence,” Professor Olarinde stated. “Out of the total graduands, 229 have distinguished themselves by achieving the highly coveted First Class degree, a testament to the robust, functional, and quality education model established by our founder.”

The Vice-Chancellor further noted that the university has now cumulatively graduated over 15,115 students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels since its maiden convocation in 2013.

The main event of the 13th Convocation Ceremonies is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. As part of the week-long activities, the university will also confer honorary doctorate degrees on three distinguished Nigerians in appreciation of their impactful contributions to society.

Professor Olarinde reiterated ABUAD’s founding vision to lead the nation’s education sector, foster innovation, and raise a new generation of transformational leaders equipped to drive national development.
