Cross River Governor Appoints Linus Obogo as New Chief Press Secretary, Reassigns Nsa Gill

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has approved the appointment of Mr. Linus Obogo as his new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity. This strategic move, announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Owan Enoh, is aimed at bolstering the administration’s communication machinery for more effective and responsive public engagement.

The appointment of Mr. Obogo, a seasoned journalist and media strategist, takes immediate effect. He is expected to bring his extensive experience in public communication, political reporting, and editorial leadership to enhance the Governor’s media engagements and ensure clarity in projecting government policies.

Mr. Obogo’s appointment marks the third individual to serve as Chief Press Secretary under Governor Otu’s administration in less than two years. He replaces Mr. Nsa Gill, who previously held the position.

In a related development, Governor Otu has re-appointed Mr. Nsa Gill as Special Adviser on Public Affairs. In his new portfolio, Mr. Gill is tasked with deepening the interface between the government and the public, fostering greater transparency, engagement, and clarity in policy communication. Mr. Gill is a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council, and also served as a journalist with The Nation Newspaper.

These appointments underscore Governor Otu’s commitment to building a professional and proactive media team to effectively articulate and project the state government’s agenda.
