Ebonyi SDP Chairman Predicts APC’s Fall in 2027, Citing Parallels with PDP’s 2015 Defeat
The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ebonyi State, Comrade Chala Ajah, has boldly predicted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will suffer a similar fate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 and will be ousted from power in the 2027 general elections. Ajah made this assertion during a recent media interaction in Abakaliki.
Comrade Ajah drew direct parallels between the current state of affairs under the APC and the circumstances that led to the PDP’s defeat in 2015, which ended its 16-year reign at the federal level. He argued that the APC-led government has failed to address critical national issues, leading to widespread discontent among Nigerians.
According to Ajah, the primary reasons for the impending fall of the APC in 2027 include the severe economic hardship faced by citizens, the pervasive insecurity across the nation, and a perceived disconnect between the government and the populace. He contended that these challenges mirror, and in some cases, exceed, the issues that led to the PDP’s loss of public trust and eventual defeat.
The SDP chairman stated that Nigerians are growing increasingly disillusioned with the APC’s performance, particularly concerning the cost of living and the safety of lives and property. He asserted that the current climate of dissatisfaction would naturally translate into a desire for change, similar to how the electorate sought an alternative in 2015.
While not outlining specific strategies, Ajah expressed confidence that the SDP, along with other progressive forces, would be ready to offer Nigerians a viable alternative in the next general elections. His prediction comes amidst ongoing political realignments and discussions about the future of Nigerian politics as the 2027 election cycle draws closer. The SDP aims to capitalize on what it perceives as the APC’s shortcomings to present itself as a credible option for leadership.
