Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Aluko, has announced that all past governors of the state are rallying behind the re-election campaign of incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Aluko, who now chairs the BAO State Endorsement Committee, emphasized the unprecedented unity among the state’s political leaders in supporting Oyebanji’s second-term bid. He highlighted the governor’s achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and agriculture as key factors in garnering widespread support.
“All former governors are backing Governor Oyebanji’s re-election because of his transformative policies and dedication to the state’s progress,” Aluko stated.
The BAO State Endorsement Committee, inaugurated in Ado-Ekiti, comprises notable figures including former Deputy Governor Prof. Modupe Adelabu and Elder Alaba Bejide as co-chairmen. Other members include Hon. Karounwi Oladapo (Secretary), Hon. Folorunso Olabode (Treasurer), and Hon. Seun Afuye (Welfare Officer).
In addition to the support from former governors, various stakeholders across Ekiti State have endorsed Governor Oyebanji’s re-election. The Association of Ekiti State Traditional Chieftaincy Title Holders declared him their sole candidate for the 2026 election, citing his impactful governance.
Political leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti North Senatorial District also expressed unanimous support for Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, praising their administration’s achievements in various sectors.
Furthermore, communities in Ekiti West Constituency II, including Okemesi and Ido-Ile, have endorsed the governor for a second term, acknowledging the positive impact of his administration on local development.
