Governor Sanwo-Olu Rallies Lagos APC for E-Registration; Declares Digital Membership ‘The Key’ to Party Transparency and 2026 Success

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has issued a strong call for modernization within the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging every member across Lagos State to fully embrace and participate in the party’s electronic registration (e-registration) exercise.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Ikeja, the Governor described the digital membership drive as a “transformative milestone” that would bring the party’s administration into the 21st century.

“The strength of our party lies in its people, and for us to serve them better, we must know exactly who they are,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated. “By embracing this e-registration, we are building a verifiable and credible database. This isn’t just about technology; it’s about ensuring that every voice in the APC is counted and that our internal processes are beyond reproach.”

The Governor noted that the traditional manual registration system often led to disputes over delegate lists and membership numbers. He argued that the new digital system, which issues a unique membership ID and a digital card, would provide a permanent solution to these challenges, fostering a more democratic and inclusive environment ahead of the 2026 political cycle.

Sanwo-Olu specifically tasked ward chairmen and local government leaders to act as “digital ambassadors.” He urged them to provide support for members who may not be tech-savvy, ensuring that no loyal supporter is left behind in the transition. “We must take this to the grassroots. From Alimosho to Epe, every member must be captured,” he added.

“This is about the future of the APC. Digitalization is the path to transparency. When we have a clean register, we have a stronger party. I urge all our members to go to their designated centers or use the official portal to update their status immediately.” — Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State APC has already begun deploying mobile registration units to various wards to facilitate the process. As the 2026 political calendar begins to unfold, the success of this e-registration drive is seen as a crucial step in maintaining the party’s dominant position in Nigeria’s commercial nerve center.
