Kenneth Okonkwo Alleges Plot to ‘Truncate’ ADC; Blasts INEC for ‘Administrative Ambush’ and Warns Against 2027 One-Party State Plan

Nollywood star turned political heavyweight, Kenneth Okonkwo, has “flipped the script” on the ongoing internal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), labeling it an external “demolition job.” Okonkwo issued a scathing statement in Abuja, declaring that the recent legal and administrative hurdles facing the party are not accidental, but a deliberate “plot to truncate” the ADC’s rise as the nation’s leading opposition.

The “Solution” to the current political tension, according to Okonkwo, is for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop acting as a “political undertaker.” He argued that the delisting of the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) is a calculated move to “decapitate” the party just as it was gaining momentum. “You cannot talk about ‘Renewed Hope’ for democracy while you are actively strangling the opposition,” Okonkwo stated, accusing the ruling powers of trying to “clear the field” ahead of 2027.

Okonkwo, who was elected into the ADC’s NWC last year, described the situation as a “judicial Tsunami” designed to drown the voice of the common man. He warned that the “truncation” of the ADC would be the final nail in the coffin of Nigeria’s multi-party system. “They are not just fighting a party; they are fighting the right of Nigerians to have an alternative choice. If we allow this plot to succeed, the 2027 elections will be a coronation, not a contest,” he added.

As the 72-hour ultimatum given by the party’s youth wing draws closer, Okonkwo’s intervention has added fresh fuel to the “Occupy INEC” movement. He called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria to ensure that the courts are not used as “tools for political clearance.” For the supporters of the ADC, the message from the “Living in Bondage” star is a rallying cry: the party is not in crisis because of its members, but because it has become “too dangerous” for those who want to hold onto power at all costs.
