No Room for Deception! Ex-Speaker Olabimtan Vows 2027 Landslide for Tinubu, Says Ondo Voters Are Too Smart for Opposition Lies
As political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the next general elections, the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in 2027 is a “settled matter” in the state.
Olabimtan, who is also the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), made this bold assertion during a recent media engagement in Akure, January 2026. He argued that the political landscape in Ondo State leaves no room for the opposition to thrive because the residents are highly discerning and politically savvy.
“Ondo people are too smart and too sophisticated to be deceived by the lies and empty promises of the opposition,” Olabimtan stated. He emphasized that the electorate can see the tangible results of the current administration’s reforms, ranging from massive road projects to economic stabilization efforts.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, an initiative backed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is currently traversing the 18 local government areas of the state. Its mission is to educate the public on the various federal interventions and opportunities available to them. Olabimtan noted that while the group is technically focusing on “enlightenment” to avoid breaking campaign embargoes, its long-term goal is clear: to ensure that the President surpasses the 67 per cent vote share he achieved in the state during the 2023 polls.
The former speaker concluded that the opposition’s attempts to regain relevance in the Sunshine State will fail because “the people know who is working for them.” He cited the inclusion of Ondo State in the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project and the renewed focus on the Port of Ondo as key reasons why the state will remain a stronghold for the ruling party come 2027.
