Olunloyo Family Pays Homage to Olubadan Designate Ahead of Coronation

The family of the late former governor of Oyo State, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, has paid a royal congratulatory visit to the Olubadan designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, at his Bodija, Ibadan residence. The visit is a mark of honor and a show of support ahead of the weeklong activities leading to the new monarch’s coronation.

The Olunloyo family’s delegation, which included Mr. Gbenga Olunloyo, Mr. Olumide Olunloyo, Mrs. Ronke Olunloyo, and former House of Representatives member Hon. Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo, offered their best wishes and pledged their loyalty to Oba Ladoja. The gesture joins a long list of visits from prominent individuals and groups across the state who are celebrating the ascension of the former governor to the throne.

The visit comes as the city of Ibadan prepares for the historic coronation of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. A coronation committee has unveiled a comprehensive program of events, including an inter-religious prayer session, a cultural fiesta, and a coronation lecture. The official installation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the historic Mapo Hall, an event expected to draw dignitaries from all walks of life.

The visit by the Olunloyo family underscores the significance of unity and mutual respect among Ibadan’s political and traditional elites, as the city gears up for a new chapter under the leadership of Oba Ladoja.
