President Tinubu Hails Soludo’s Re-election as Affirmation of ‘Visionary Leadership,’ Commends INEC for Credible Poll

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today, Sunday, November 9, 2025, congratulated Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his re-election victory in the Anambra State Governorship Poll, describing the outcome as a resounding affirmation of his visionary leadership.

In a statement issued in Abuja, President Tinubu noted that Soludo’s overwhelming victory in Saturday’s poll made him only the third governor in the state’s political history to win a second term.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” the President stated. Tinubu further praised the former Central Bank Governor as a leader who has demonstrated that “knowledge is power” and that “academic principles can be effectively applied in public service through accountability, transparency, and prudent management.”

Praise for INEC and Pledge of Collaboration

The President extended his commendation to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and specifically the new Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, along with the security agencies, for ensuring the “peaceful and successful conduct” of the election. Tinubu described the process as credible, urging the commission to maintain and improve on the standards set.

Reaffirming the Federal Government’s dedication to collaborative development, President Tinubu assured Governor Soludo of his unwavering support and expressed optimism about continued partnership between the Federal Government and the Anambra State government.

The President urged the re-elected governor to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents, including those who have already voiced their rejection of the results, emphasizing that unity is crucial for the continued development of Anambra, the “Light of the Nation.”
