PROTECTING OUR PROTECTORS! Governor Oyebanji Honors Fallen Heroes With New Remembrance Emblem and Vows to Make Ekiti ‘Safest State in Nigeria’!

Governor Biodun Oyebanji is calling on all Nigerians to remember the “debt of gratitude” we owe to our soldiers. Unveiling the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem in the state capital, the Governor sent a clear message: the families of those who died for our peace will never be forgotten.

During the emotional ceremony, Oyebanji pinned the first emblem on his chest, officially kicking off the fundraising season to help war veterans and the widows of fallen soldiers. He didn’t just stop at words; he backed it up with a heavy donation, urging everyone from big businesses to everyday citizens to “dig deep” into their pockets for the Nigerian Legion.

But the Governor also looked to the future. He promised that for as long as he is in office, security will be his Number One priority. He explained that the best way to honor those who have already died for Nigeria is to support those who are still out there in the bushes and on the borders today fighting to keep Ekiti and the rest of the country safe.

“We sleep with our eyes closed because some people are awake at night in the cold,” Oyebanji said. He vowed to keep providing the police, army, and local security groups with the tools they need to stay ahead of criminals.

As the “Land of Honour” prepares for the grand finale of the Remembrance Day on January 15, the Governor’s pledge has given a fresh boost of morale to the state’s security forces and the aging veterans who served before them.
