Troops of Operation Hadin Kai Neutralize Five Terrorists, Liberate Three Captives in Daring Borno Clearance Raid

In a major boost to the ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in the Northeast, the Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of five terrorists and the successful rescue of three hostages during a tactical operation in the heart of Borno State.

The operation, carried out by the gallantry of troops from Operation Hadin Kai, targeted a strategic hideout used by insurgents to coordinate attacks on local farming communities. Acting on high-level intelligence, the troops advanced on the enclave located in the Bama Local Government Area, leading to a heavy exchange of fire.

By the end of the encounter, five insurgents were confirmed dead, while several others fled into the thickets with gunshot wounds. The military’s breakthrough led to the immediate liberation of three individuals two women and a man who were found bound in the camp. The rescued victims have since been moved to a military medical facility for trauma care and debriefing.

The Theater Command revealed that the raid also yielded a significant haul of weaponry. “Our troops successfully recovered two AK-47 rifles, one RPG tube, and hundreds of rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition,” a military spokesperson confirmed. “This operation is a testament to our resolve to clear the remaining remnants of these criminal elements from the Sambisa fringes.”

The rescue comes at a time of heightened security vigilance across the Northeast, as the military seeks to secure agricultural corridors for the 2026 planting season. Local community leaders in Bama have lauded the troops, noting that the dismantled camp was a major source of the kidnappings that have plagued the area in recent months.
