Anambra Governorship Candidate Pledges to Revolutionise Agriculture

The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, Chioma Ifemeludike, has vowed to bring about a revolution in agriculture, infrastructure, and food sufficiency if elected as the next governor of Anambra State. Ifemeludike made the commitment during a campaign tour of Omor in the Ayamelum Local Government Area over the weekend.

Describing Omor as the “food basket of the state,” Ifemeludike lamented that successive governments have neglected the community, leaving farmers to contend with outdated farming methods and crumbling roads. She emphasized that these challenges hinder the progress of hardworking farmers and limit their access to markets.

During her visit, the AAC governorship hopeful outlined her promises to the community, which include the introduction of mechanized farming tools to modernize agriculture and the construction of durable road networks to ease transportation. “I am not just promising; I will deliver these as your governor, because Anambra deserves leaders who turn vision into reality,” she said.

The visit was part of the “Chioma4Governor Campaign,” which also featured a “Talent Discovery Initiative” aimed at youth empowerment. Representatives from Ayamelum LGA will compete against Awka South in a soccer kick-off match on September 20, with the initiative also showcasing youth talent in music and drama.
