NAHCON Sets October 8 Deadline for States to Remit 2026 Hajj Fares

In a move to ensure a seamless and well-organized 2026 pilgrimage, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a stern directive to all state Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, agencies, and licensed Hajj tour operators to remit Hajj fares by October 8, 2025. The deadline is a critical step in a series of preparations dictated by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s new operational calendar.

According to a statement from NAHCON’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Fatima Usara, this strict timeline is necessary to meet Saudi Arabia’s deadlines for contracting and payment for services. The Saudi authorities have set firm dates, including a deadline of September 23–24 for contracting essential services such as transportation and accommodation, and October 12 for the final submission of pilgrims’ data through the Nusuk platform.

NAHCON’s Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, along with a delegation of commissioners, is traveling to Saudi Arabia to finalize service agreements with providers, a step that cannot be completed without the timely remittance of funds from the states. The commission had earlier announced a provisional fare of N8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj, and stakeholders are urged to comply with the October 8 deadline to avoid any hitches in the arrangements. NAHCON emphasized that early compliance is crucial for securing the best services and ensuring a successful and comfortable pilgrimage for all Nigerian pilgrims.
