The Lagos State Government has announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan ahead of the 10th Edition of the Lagos Women Run

Date & Time: Saturday, November 8, 2025, starting at 6:00 a.m.
Race Route: The 10km race will start at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and end at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

Roads Affected (Partial Closure):

  • Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS)
  • Water Board, Old NITEL
  • Outer Marina
  • Officers Mess, Bonny Camp Bridge
  • State House, Ahmadu Bello Way
  • Akin Adesola Street
  • Falomo Bridge, Falomo Roundabout
  • Awolowo Road
  • Onikan Roundabout
  • Mobolaji Johnson Arena

Alternative Routes for Motorists

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, advised motorists to use the following alternative routes during the race period:
Traffic from Ozumba Mbadiwe heading to Third Mainland Bridge: Should go through Bonny Camp to Onikan Underpass to link Marina Exit to Force Road to connect Outer Marina before merging onto the Third Mainland Bridge.

Motorists from Apongbon heading to Ikoyi: Are advised to use Odunlami Street to link Igbosere Road to Moloney Street to connect Ikoyi Road and continue their journeys.

Officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LSNC) will be deployed along all affected routes to manage traffic, guide motorists, and ensure public safety throughout the event.
Motorists are strongly advised to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic officials to ensure minimal inconvenience.
