Uniforms Are Not for VIP Parties!” — Nigerian Army Arrests Two Soldiers Acting as Bouncers at Peller and Jarvis’ Lagos Wedding

The Nigerian Army has detained two serving soldiers for allegedly providing unauthorized security services during the high-profile wedding of popular content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, and TikTok creator Jarvis.

The arrested personnel, identified as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi, are attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital in Obalende, Lagos.

Trouble began for the soldiers after video clips from the star-studded event in Lekki circulated widely across social media platforms. The footage showed the uniform-clad personnel clearing pathways, handling crowd control, and escorting celebrity guests through the venue. The clips sparked widespread public criticism, with online commentators questioning why active military officers were deployed as bouncers at a private party.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson for the 81 Division, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, revealed that the soldiers were taken into custody following credible intelligence regarding their unauthorized presence at the function.

Military authorities disclosed that preliminary investigations have commenced to determine the full extent of the soldiers’ involvement and identify any additional personnel connected to the breach.

Reiterating its position on discipline, the Nigerian Army emphasized that personnel are strictly forbidden from undertaking private security jobs or offering escort services without formal approval, warning that violations of military protocol will attract severe disciplinary sanctions.
