Akwa Ibom Governor Declares Work-Free Day for President Tinubu’s Visit

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has declared Friday, November 6, 2026, a work-free day. This decision allows residents, especially civil servants, to participate in welcoming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his visit to the state.

The governor made this announcement after inspecting several projects that the president is expected to inaugurate. He described the visit as important for the development of Akwa Ibom.

Among the projects set to be commissioned are the International Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport, the Aviation Village, Airport Hospital, ARISE Palm Resort, a new road, and the Security and Command Centre.

After the inspection, Eno stated that the president’s visit would highlight the infrastructure projects completed under his administration. He also mentioned that a rally would be held to support President Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027.

Governor Eno praised President Tinubu for providing resources to state governments, which have helped in executing development projects in Akwa Ibom. He encouraged residents to come out and show their hospitality during the president’s visit.

“We urge all Akwa Ibomites to come out en masse to give the President an overwhelming reception,” Eno said.
