Access Holdings Reports N474 Billion Profit for Nine Months Ending September 2026

Access Holdings Plc has reported a profit of N474 billion after tax for the first nine months of 2026. This information was shared in a statement from the company on Thursday.

The bank’s profit before tax increased by 8.3% to N667.4 billion, up from N616.2 billion in 2025. Profit after tax rose by 5.9% to N474.2 billion. Interest income also saw growth, rising 6.9% to N3.1 trillion, while net interest income increased by 2.7% to N1.3 trillion.

A significant factor in this performance was a sharp drop in impairment charges, which are costs related to bad loans, falling by 73.5% to N92.9 billion. This led to a 32.1% increase in net interest income after these charges, reaching N1.2 trillion. Additionally, fee and commission income grew by 8.4% to N650.9 billion.

However, the bank faced challenges as operating expenses rose by 11.8% to N1.3 trillion, and other operating income fell by 40.8% to N234.5 billion. This resulted in a 3.2% decline in total operating income to N2.06 trillion. The bank’s management highlighted that improving efficiency is key to their strategy moving forward.

Access Holdings also reported total assets of N52.6 trillion as of September 30, 2026, a 1.7% increase from the end of 2025. Customer deposits grew by 6.6% to N36.9 trillion, and loans and advances rose by 7.4% to N14.3 trillion.

The bank is focusing on maximizing returns from its existing operations rather than just expanding. It is also working to resolve regulatory issues related to its capital structure, which could improve its ability to pay dividends in the future.
