Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, held a rally in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, to rally support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event attracted many party leaders, including members of the APC’s National Working Committee and several governors. It also included the introduction of the party’s candidates for the upcoming elections.

Yilwatda shared details of the rally on his X account, stating that the large turnout showed the people’s trust in the APC. He described the atmosphere as exciting and full of energy, reflecting the party’s determination to strengthen its political position as the elections approach.

During the rally, Yilwatda encouraged support for Tinubu’s government, describing the President as a capable leader whose policies are setting the stage for a better Nigeria. He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects in Ekiti, such as road construction and rehabilitation, which he believes will improve transportation and boost the economy.

Yilwatda also defended the government’s tax reforms, stating they are meant to protect low-income earners and small businesses from excessive tax burdens. He mentioned the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which helps eligible students with a monthly allowance for their educational needs.
