APC Leaders Call for Suspension of Former Benue Chairman Austin Agada

As Nigeria approaches the 2027 General Elections, leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) are urging the party’s National Working Committee to take action against former Benue State Chairman Austin Agada. The request comes from the APC Solidarity Group, which claims Agada has engaged in activities harmful to the party.

The group, led by National Organising Secretary Sa’idu Muhammad, submitted a petition on October 2, 2026. They accuse Agada of publicly supporting Senator Abba Moro from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other candidates, which they say undermines the APC’s interests in the Benue South Senatorial district.

The petition asks the National Working Committee to form a committee to investigate Agada’s actions. They want Agada to explain his behavior and face disciplinary measures if found guilty. The group believes that making the outcome public would discourage similar actions by others in the party.

Agada is said to lead a faction of the APC in Benue State that supports the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. His endorsement of Moro included displaying banners featuring both the APC’s presidential candidate, President Bola Tinubu, and Moro.
