Federal Ministry of Education Bags Multiple SERVICOM Awards for Excellence and ICT Innovation

The Federal Ministry of Education is currently the “star” of the civil service after winning several prestigious awards for its dedication to serving Nigerians. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the Ministry revealed that it had been honored by the SERVICOM Office in the Presidency for its commitment to accountability and performance.

In a statement signed by the Director of Press, Boriowo Folasade, the Ministry was celebrated for “bridging the gap” between the government and the people. Beyond the general recognition, the Ministry emerged as the second-best performing unit out of all the ministries in Nigeria. The judges were particularly impressed with how the Ministry has embraced technology, awarding it five different prizes for its use of ICT to make service delivery faster and easier.

Receiving the awards, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, told staff that as a leading institution, the Ministry of Education has a responsibility to set the standard for others to follow. He warned that there is no room for laziness or poor planning, as the Ministry’s work directly affects the future of the nation.

These awards come at a time when the Ministry is pushing for new reforms in schools and universities. By winning these honors, the Ministry has shown that it is not just talking about change but is actually delivering better results for students, teachers, and the general public.
