FG Launches Unified Digital Service Portal to Give Nigerians One-Stop Access to Government Agencies

The Federal Government has taken a major leap toward modernizing public administration with the official soft-launch of the Government Service Portal (GSP), a centralized digital platform designed to overhaul how citizens and businesses interact with public institutions.

Unveiled in Abuja through a strategic collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Galaxy Backbone, and development partner KOICA, the new portal serves as a single digital window for accessing government services across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

For years, navigating government bureaucracy has been marked by fragmented processes, duplicated paperwork, and frustrating delays. The introduction of the GSP directly targets these inefficiencies by integrating services onto a single secure platform. Citizens can now complete transactions, access public documents, and submit applications using a single secure sign-in, removing the need to visit multiple physical offices or repeatedly fill out identical information.

Speaking on the strategic value of the deployment, government representatives emphasized that the portal is a cornerstone of Nigeria’s e-Government Masterplan 2.0. Beyond convenience, the digital infrastructure is engineered to enforce strict transparency and elevate accountability across the public service.

“Our mandate is not simply to deploy technology, but to use technology to improve governance and public service delivery,” noted representatives during the unveiling. “The Government Service Portal provides Nigerians with a single digital gateway to access government services in a simpler, faster, and more seamless manner, while boosting transparency and strengthening the ease of doing business.”

International partners, including KOICA, lauded the milestone as the culmination of sustained cooperation aimed at building a robust foundation for digital governance in West Africa.

As MDAs begin migrating their processes onto the unified platform, the Federal Government expects the portal to significantly cut down processing times, reduce opportunities for corruption, and deliver a responsive, technology-driven public service tailored to the needs of modern Nigerians.
