Passenger Describes Chaos as Flydubai Co-Pilot Attacks Pilot Mid-Flight

On September 30, 2026, a Flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv was forced to make an emergency landing after a co-pilot attacked the pilot in what was described as a suicide attempt. This incident occurred over Jordan as the plane was traveling from Dubai.

A passenger named Miryam Shira Ohayon reported that the plane was nearly out of control during the attack. She said the co-pilot attempted to kill the pilot and crash the aircraft, stating, “It was really on the way to crashing.”

Ohayon noted that passengers worked together to subdue the co-pilot, with a doctor on board providing first aid to those injured. Thankfully, other than the pilot, there were no serious injuries reported.

Yasmin Abukasis, Ohayon’s mother, shared that her daughter was on the flight to attend a memorial service for her brother, who was killed in a previous attack. She expressed her fear during the incident, saying her daughter thought they would not survive.

According to reports, two other pilots on the flight took control and successfully diverted the plane to Saudi Arabia. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with one passenger noting the presence of blood in the cockpit.
