Harry Kane Signs Contract Extension with Bayern Munich Until 2029

Harry Kane, the English forward and recent Ballon d’Or winner, has signed a two-year contract extension with Bayern Munich. This deal keeps him at the club until 2029, as announced by the German champions.

Kane, who is 33 years old and serves as the captain of the England national team, joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023. Since then, he has scored 156 goals in 161 matches across all competitions. In a statement, Kane expressed his happiness, saying he feels “right at home” at Bayern and appreciates the support from the fans and the city of Munich.

Before joining Bayern, Kane spent over a decade at Tottenham without winning a team trophy. At Bayern, he has already won two Bundesliga titles and one German Cup, although he has yet to secure a Champions League title.

Last month, Kane received the prestigious Ballon d’Or award in London, making him the first English player to win it since Michael Owen in 2001. He also became the fastest player in German history to score 100 Bundesliga goals, achieving this in just 98 games.

Bayern’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, expressed the club’s excitement about extending Kane’s contract, highlighting his leadership and skills on the field. Negotiations for the extension had been ongoing since August, with the length of the deal being a key discussion point.

Kane has shown a strong commitment to Bayern, stating that his desire to return to the Premier League has decreased. He emphasized his happiness in Munich and the positive environment for his family.
