Jigawa APC Launches Campaign Team for 2027 Elections with Governor Namadi as Chair

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has announced its campaign team for the 2027 general elections. Governor Umar Namadi will lead the team as chairman, with former governors Ali Sa’adu Birnin Kudu and Ibrahim Saminu Turaki serving as deputy chairmen.

This new structure aims to organize campaign efforts, strengthen the party’s presence, and rally support in all 27 local government areas of the state ahead of the elections.

The announcement came in a statement on October 22, 2026, signed by the state APC chairman, Hon. Ahmed Garba. The party’s State Working Committee approved the campaign council after discussions with various party leaders and stakeholders.

The council includes six vice chairmen, each representing one of the three senatorial districts. This ensures broad participation and effective coordination. For the Jigawa North-East district, Senator Muhammad Ibrahim and Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia were appointed as Vice Chairmen I and II. In the Jigawa South-West district, the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, and Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu will serve as Vice Chairmen I and II. Alhaji Jisa Gerawa and Hajiya Rabi Ishaq were named Vice Chairmen I and II for the Jigawa North-West district.

Alhaji Lawan Yau Roni has been appointed as the director-general of the campaign council. He will oversee daily operations and implement the campaign programs.

The council is tasked with providing strategic direction, coordinating campaign activities, and engaging with party leaders, members, and supporters as the elections approach. Garba urged all involved to show unity, discipline, and commitment to the party’s goals. He emphasized the APC’s dedication to progressive governance and the welfare of the people in Jigawa State.
