Kano Police Arrest Four Suspects and Recover Three Stolen Vehicles
The Kano State Police Command has arrested four suspects and recovered three stolen vehicles during operations conducted on October 8 and 9. The police shared this information in a statement released on Sunday by their spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.
One of the recovered vehicles is a 2010 ash-colored Toyota Corolla. This car was reportedly given to a man named Sale Usman, who was supposed to sell it and send the money to its owner, Aminu Yahaya. However, Usman allegedly kept the car for himself. Police later found the vehicle in Katsina State, with a man named Sulaiman claiming he bought it for about N7.5 million.
In another case, two men, Abubakar Umar, 23, and Mustapha Zubairu Abdullahi, 25, were arrested for allegedly stealing a white Toyota Hiace minibus. The vehicle had been reported stolen on October 5 from Singer Market by its owner, Isah Abdullahi. Police used technical support to track down the minibus in a remote area of Mariri Magadawa, where they arrested the suspects.
The third suspect, 40-year-old Abdullahi Adamu from Potiskum, Yobe State, was caught while trying to take a Mitsubishi Canter truck to a garage for repainting. Police intercepted him on October 8. During questioning, he admitted to stealing the truck from a garage in Potiskum.
The police are working with their counterparts in Yobe State to find the rightful owner of the truck. All four suspects are expected to face charges in court once the investigations are complete. The police commissioner praised the officers for their quick actions and urged vehicle owners to be careful about where they park their cars and who they trust with their property.
The police also encouraged residents to report any suspicious activities, especially if they notice vehicles being sold at unusually low prices.
