Kebbi State Government Enforces Strict Working Hours for Civil Servants

The Kebbi State Government has issued a reminder to civil servants to follow official working hours. The hours are set from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

This announcement was made in a statement released on Wednesday by Malami Shekare, the Head of the Civil Service. The statement was part of a circular dated September 23, 2026, from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service in Birnin Kebbi.

Shekare noted that some civil servants had been arriving late or not showing up for work without notifying their supervisors. He emphasized the importance of being punctual and adhering to the established schedule.

He stated, “All civil servants are expected to strictly adhere to the approved working hours.” Additionally, he warned that any lateness or absence must be communicated to and approved by the relevant authority.

Shekare also instructed heads of various government departments to ensure that their staff are aware of this directive and comply with it. The circular was sent to key officials, including the Chief of Staff and various commissioners.
