Kwankwaso Never Said ‘Go’! NNPP Blasts Rumors of Governor Abba’s Defection; Says Mentee is Staying Put!
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially “locked the gates” against rumors that the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, is packing his bags for the APC. In a stinging response to viral reports, the party has made it clear that their national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, did not and would never endorse such a move.
For days, the “political grapevine” in Northern Nigeria has been buzzing with claims that Governor Abba was getting ready to dump the NNPP to join the ruling APC, and that Kwankwaso had given him the “green light” to do so.
But the NNPP leadership isn’t smiling. They have labeled the story as a “wicked lie” designed by enemies of the state to cause confusion in the “Kwakwasiyya” movement. “Governor Abba is a son of the soil and a loyal member of the NNPP. He is not going anywhere,” a party spokesperson declared.
Political analysts believe these rumors are part of a bigger “tug-of-war” for Kano, which is the most important political prize in the North. While the APC has been openly “wooing” the Governor, the NNPP says their bond is too strong to be broken by “fake news.”
For now, the Governor remains under the “Red Cap” umbrella, and Kwankwaso’s camp has sent a clear message to those hoping for a defection: “Dream on!”
