Nigeria Revenue Service Warns Against Fake Job Ads for FIRS Positions

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has warned Nigerians about a fake job advertisement claiming to be from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). This warning was issued in a public notice shared on the NRS’s official X.com page.

The fraudulent notice, titled “Federal Inland Revenue Service – FIRS Job Vacancy – Replacement,” has been spreading on social media and other platforms. It invites people to apply for jobs by sending their information to a specific email address.

The NRS clarified that this advertisement is not legitimate and did not come from them. They emphasized that the FIRS has been replaced by the NRS, and any job postings claiming to be from the FIRS should be viewed with skepticism.

Furthermore, the NRS stated that it has not authorized any recruitment process and has not hired anyone to manage recruitment on its behalf. They urged the public to ignore the fake notice and to be cautious when responding to job offers online.

For any official recruitment announcements, the NRS advised that information will only be shared through their official website and authorized communication channels. They encouraged everyone to verify any job-related information before taking action.
