No Political Rift in Kogi APC, Says RTIFN Director Amid Leadership Changes

Hajia Aishat Oyiza Omade, the National Director of Planning for Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), has addressed rumors of a political divide among supporters of Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. She stated that the recent change in leadership within the group should not be seen as a sign of conflict within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State.

Omade made her comments in a press release issued on Friday in Lokoja. She explained that the replacement of Senator Abubakar Sadiku Ohere as the Kogi State Coordinator of RTIFN was part of efforts to ensure fairness and representation across different local government areas.

According to Omade, the decision followed discussions among Kogi stakeholders in Abuja. She emphasized that there was no internal strife among the Governor’s supporters or within the APC that warranted this change. Instead, she argued that the shift was aimed at enhancing political inclusion and grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

She noted that the previous concentration of leadership roles in certain local government areas limited opportunities for others. Omade pointed out that several key positions in various support groups were held by individuals from Okene, while other areas like Adavi and Okehi had little representation.

Omade expressed her support for Ohere’s leadership but insisted that the opportunity for leadership should be extended to other local government areas to promote equity. She stated that political mobilization is more effective when all stakeholders feel included and valued.

She called for unity among party members, urging them to focus on cooperation rather than speculation about internal conflicts. Omade believes that strengthening relationships and fostering inclusion will enhance the effectiveness of RTIFN’s efforts in Kogi State as they prepare for the 2027 elections.
