Ogun PDP Calls for Calm After Adebutu’s Name Missing from INEC Candidate List

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is asking its members and supporters to remain calm after their governorship candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, was left off a list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The party is confident the issue will be resolved before the 2027 governorship election.

The PDP believes that the omission was influenced by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which they claim is worried about their chances in the upcoming election. The party insists that Adebutu is a legitimate member of the PDP and has met all requirements for membership.

According to the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Arc. Kayode Adebayo, Adebutu participated in the party’s digital membership registration and his membership card was properly submitted to INEC on time. The party emphasized that Adebutu has never left the PDP.

The PDP attributes the omission to political interference and claims the APC is trying to undermine their election prospects. Adebayo stated that the ruling party’s actions stem from fear of losing to the PDP.

Despite the setback, the PDP remains hopeful that Adebutu’s name will be added to the official candidate list. They are urging the people of Ogun State to stay focused on their political goals and continue to mobilize for the election.

The party reassured its supporters that they should not be discouraged by this development. They believe that the people of Ogun State are eager for change and better governance.
