Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Supports Tinubu and Yayi for 2027 Elections in Ogun State
The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo organization in Ogun State has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, for the 2027 elections. This announcement was made during a visit to Senator Adeola, where the group also honored him with a chieftaincy title.
Eze Stephen Okorie, the president of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Ogun State, led a small group to meet with Senator Adeola. He praised the senator for his contributions to Ogun State, particularly in improving roads and market facilities. The endorsement was announced on a Sunday, and the formal ceremony is set to take place in Abeokuta at the end of October.
Okorie highlighted the senator’s efforts in development over the past three years, stating that the Igbo community in Ogun State feels confident in supporting both Adeola for governor and Tinubu for president. He mentioned that he had even created campaign materials for both candidates.
Okorie also pointed out that Ogun West, the region where Adeola is from, has not had a governor since the state was created. He believes that Adeola’s election would help address this issue of marginalization.
In his remarks, Senator Adeola expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the Igbo community throughout his political career. He emphasized that his political approach focuses on including everyone and providing good governance to all residents, regardless of their background.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including the APC’s Deputy Governorship Candidate and the Minister of State for Health and Social Services, among others.
