Sokoto State to Begin Graduate Recruitment on Monday

The Sokoto State government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, has announced the official commencement of its graduate recruitment drive, aimed at filling 3,000 vacancies within the state’s civil service. The application process, which began today, Monday, September 22, 2025, is a key part of the administration’s strategy to tackle unemployment and address youth restiveness in the state.

In a statement released over the weekend, the Secretary of the Recruitment Committee, Gandi Muhammad, confirmed the start date and provided details on the application process. According to the statement, interested applicants are required to obtain an application form free of charge from their local government of origin before proceeding to complete the application online at the state’s official recruitment portal: https://employment.sokotostate.gov.ng.

The recruitment exercise is open to qualified indigenes of Sokoto State who hold a National Certificate in Education (NCE), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a university degree. The new recruits will be deployed to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the state’s 23 local government areas to strengthen key sectors, including education, health, and administration.

Muhammad urged all applicants to be vigilant and not pay any money to individuals or groups promising to facilitate their employment. He stressed that the entire process is free and will be conducted on a merit-based system to ensure fairness and transparency. The application window is set to close on October 6, 2025.
