Sowore Receives Prayer and Support from Pastor Adeboye After Church Service
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, recently met with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, after a National Thanksgiving Service in Lagos. Sowore shared details of their meeting on his social media account on October 4, 2026.
During the service at the church’s headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Sowore was introduced to the congregation and received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the church members. He noted that the message of hope and national renewal resonated with the audience.
After the service, Sowore had a private conversation with Adeboye, who offered to pray for him. According to Sowore, Adeboye expressed confidence in his journey and described it as honorable. Sowore reflected on how Adeboye follows his activities closely and believes in his eventual success.
This meeting marked the second time Sowore and Adeboye had met; their first encounter was in 1996 when Sowore was mobilizing against campus cultism shortly after completing his National Youth Service Corps program. Sowore appreciated the warm reception from church members and the support he received during their private discussion.
Despite the positive interactions, Sowore emphasized that his visit to the church was not meant to advance any political agenda.
