Troops Crush Secret Gun Factory and Arrest Two Local Weapon Makers Selling Homemade AK-47s in Kebbi

A hidden, illegal gun-making facility supplying deadly weapons to regional criminal rings has been completely smashed following an aggressive tactical raid by Nigerian troops in Kebbi State.

The successful operation was pulled off by soldiers attached to Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North-West, operating under the banner of Operation FANSAN YAMMA. Acting on precise, intelligence-driven tips, the frontline units successfully located a hidden compound that the weapon developers had deliberately camouflaged in a remote wilderness zone to stay off the radar of law enforcement.

Upon breaching the secret perimeter, the assault team executed a comprehensive search of the facility. The search uncovered five newly completed, locally manufactured AK-47 assault rifles. According to field reports, these weapons were custom-built to mimic military-grade firearms and were scheduled to be loaded out to active bandit camps operating across the state borders.

Two local gunsmiths found managing the tools inside the compound were instantly pinned down and arrested. Military logs explicitly finger the two men as key logistics providers who have spent months mass-producing cheap, functional firearms to help rogue networks maintain their operations against local communities.

“The operation dealt a massive blow to the logistics chain of these criminal groups,” shared Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA. “Our troops acted swiftly on verified intelligence, uncovering a facility that was hidden specifically to avoid our patrols. By working hand-in-hand with alternative security agencies, we have successfully removed five lethal rifles from the streets and disrupted a dangerous manufacturing pipeline that fuels violence across the North-West.”

The military high command confirmed that both suspects are locked away in a secure military holding facility under intense interrogation. Investigators are currently pulling threads from the suspects’ profiles to track down the major financial sponsors who provided the capital for the factory equipment, as well as the underground buyers who ordered the homemade assault rifles.

With the factory completely dismantled and its manufacturing tools seized, security forces have set up fresh listening posts around the border communities. By aggressively shutting down these backyard weapons plants, the joint task force is aiming to choke out the local gun supply, ensuring that armed bandits can no longer easily replace their arsenals as security forces tighten the squeeze across the region.
