The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has informed the public about a scheduled period of temporary service disruptions on its digital platform as the agency embarks on critical routine system maintenance. According to a public notice issued today, Friday, December 12, 2025, the maintenance window is set to commence at 12:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, and conclude at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025 (GMT). The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), ACI AS Akinlabi, confirmed that during this 54-hour period, users should anticipate temporary service interruptions, slower response times, or limited access to some NIS Passport Services.

The NIS emphasized that this routine exercise is vital for maintaining a secure, reliable, and efficient digital ecosystem for passport administration.
