Tinubu Meets Sultan of Sokoto After Private Talks with Gowon and Danjuma to Find Solutions for Security and Economy

President Bola Tinubu has spent the last few days in “deep consultations” with some of Nigeria’s most powerful elder statesmen and religious leaders. On Sunday, March 15, the President welcomed the Sultan of Sokoto to the Presidential Villa for a private meeting that lasted about 20 minutes.

This visit is very important because it comes right after the President met with two former military giants, General Yakubu Gowon and General TY Danjuma. By meeting these leaders, the President is trying to build a “team of wisdom” to help handle the difficult issues facing Nigeria today, especially the high cost of living and security threats.

After his own meeting on Saturday, General Gowon told journalists that Nigerians should be patient and support the President. He said that Tinubu is working hard on every sector political, economic, and social. He also noted that the President is doing everything possible to stop the “major problem” of insecurity in the country.

The Sultan, who is the spiritual leader of Nigerian Muslims, also showed that the religious community is ready to support the government’s reforms. These meetings send a message that Nigeria’s top leaders are united and trying to find a peaceful path forward for everyone.
