Meghan Markle Upset Over Claims Her Father Had Child Abuse Images

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, said she is “deeply distressed” after reports claimed her father, Thomas Markle, possessed images of child abuse. These allegations were revealed on October 23, 2026, and have led Meghan to cut off contact between her father and her children.

According to media reports, including The Sun and Daily Mail, these images were allegedly found in Thomas Markle’s former home in the Philippines. Meghan mentioned that she had previously seen a letter sent to London’s Metropolitan Police in 2018 that made similar accusations against her father.

In her statement, Meghan shared her concern for any children who may have been harmed and expressed her hope that justice would be served. She emphasized that her decision to keep her father away from her children was solely to protect them.

Meghan has two children with Prince Harry, Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, aged five. She stated that despite media portrayals, her actions were taken for their safety. The couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020 but returned to the UK in August.
