Kaduna Deputy Governor Swears in New Commissioners and Advisers

KADUNA — The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, recently swore in three new commissioners and 18 special advisers. The ceremony took place on Thursday, where she emphasized the importance of serving the people faithfully and with integrity.

During the event, Balarabe reminded the appointees of the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office, which they took as part of their duties. She explained that these oaths are serious commitments to serve the government and the citizens of Kaduna State.

Balarabe described the swearing-in as a call to service, highlighting that it requires humility and dedication. She noted that the appointments reflect Governor Uba Sani’s trust in their abilities to help develop the state.

Addressing concerns about the timing of the appointments during an election season, Balarabe stated that the government’s responsibilities do not pause for elections. She reassured citizens that the administration is focused on meeting their needs, regardless of political or ethnic backgrounds.

Since May 2023, the administration has made progress in several areas. Balarabe mentioned that communities affected by conflict are reconciling, markets are reopening, and over 500 schools have resumed operations. Additionally, more than 300,000 out-of-school children returned to classrooms in 2025.

In healthcare, 255 primary healthcare centres have been upgraded, and improvements are ongoing in general hospitals. The administration is also working on about 160 road projects across the state and has plans for a light rail and bus rapid transit system.
