FCT Leaders Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Election, Promote Unity in Politics

Political leaders and stakeholders in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the upcoming 2027 elections. This endorsement took place during a meeting on Saturday, organized by the FCT Stakeholders Assembly in Abuja.

The event, led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, gathered traditional rulers, political leaders, and community members. They not only supported Tinubu but also endorsed several candidates for the National Assembly, including Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda for the FCT senatorial seat.

Wike described the endorsement as historic and urged political leaders across Nigeria to adopt a similar approach to foster unity. He emphasized the need for supporters to turn their endorsement into actual votes in the January 16, 2027 election, stressing that every member must work to secure their polling units and local areas.

Addressing the crowd, Wike reflected on lessons learned from past elections, stating that the FCT would not repeat mistakes made in 2023. He praised the collaborative efforts of various political groups in the FCT, highlighting the importance of loyalty and performance in politics.

Wike also noted the achievements of Tinubu’s administration, including the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission and initiatives aimed at improving governance and inclusivity for all residents. He encouraged the youth and women to mobilize support for the upcoming elections, reinforcing the idea of a ‘Rainbow Coalition’ that transcends party lines.

In his remarks, Wike called on residents to support the endorsed candidates, particularly Aduda, whom he described as a representative who understands the community’s needs. He also mentioned upcoming initiatives to engage youth and persons with disabilities in the electoral process.
