Tragedy Strikes Abuja Hotel: Egyptian Visitor Slumps and Dies During Dinner
An Egyptian national, identified as Mohammed Saleh, aged 56, has tragically passed away after he suddenly slumped while having dinner at a hotel in Abuja. The incident occurred on the night of Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Abuja Continental Hotel in the Wuse area of the city, sending shockwaves through the premises.
According to a police report filed by the hotel’s security supervisor, Francis Yusuf, Saleh was dining with three other companions when he suddenly collapsed. The hotel staff immediately initiated a rescue effort, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite the swift medical attention, he was referred to the Wuse District Hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead by the on-duty doctor.
The circumstances surrounding the death of the Egyptian national remain under police investigation. Saleh’s body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue, with an autopsy scheduled to be performed to determine the precise cause of death. Authorities have initiated the process of contacting the Egyptian Embassy in Nigeria to inform the family and begin necessary consular procedures for the repatriation of his body. The police have confirmed the ongoing investigation to get a clearer picture of what transpired.
