Como Achieves Stunning 9-1 Victory Over Lens in Champions League Match

Italian football club Como delivered an incredible performance in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, defeating French team Lens 9-1 in an away match. This historic victory took place at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, marking Como’s sixth consecutive win in competitive matches.

Anastasios Douvikas was the standout player, scoring three goals. The 18-year-old Matteo Papaccioli also made an impact by scoring on his debut. Douvikas opened the scoring just seven minutes into the game, converting a cross after a corner kick. He then doubled the lead in the 32nd minute with a close-range finish.

Como continued to dominate, with Nico Paz scoring the third goal just before halftime. He dedicated his goal to Jesús de Miguel, a player who tragically died earlier in the week due to an on-field accident.

The second half saw Como maintain their momentum, with Lucas Da Cunha scoring the fourth goal shortly after the break. Marc-Oliver Kempf added a fifth goal in the 53rd minute, followed by Douvikas completing his hat-trick just four minutes later.

Mattia Liberali made it 7-0 in the 62nd minute before Lens managed to score a consolation goal through Ruben Aguilar. However, Como quickly responded with Martin Baturina restoring the seven-goal lead. The final goal came in stoppage time from Papaccioli, who scored after a VAR review confirmed he was onside.

This victory further solidifies Como’s strong performance in the Champions League under coach Cesc Fabregas, who has led the team to impressive results this season.
