Cristiano Ronaldo’s Journey: From Sporting to Al-Nassr and Beyond

Cristiano Ronaldo has had an incredible football career filled with records, memorable goals, and trophies from top clubs in Europe. Starting at Sporting CP and becoming a global star at Manchester United and Real Madrid, he has achieved what few players can. Now, at 41 years old, he is focusing on his new chapter with Al-Nassr and has a big goal in mind: reaching 1,000 career goals. Currently, he has 985 goals, just 15 short of this milestone.

Ronaldo’s rise to fame began with a standout performance in a friendly match against Manchester United in 2003. His skills helped Sporting CP win 3-1, which impressed United’s players and led to his transfer to Old Trafford shortly after.

During his time at Manchester United, Ronaldo won his first Premier League title and became a star player. In the 2006-07 season, he scored 17 goals and was named PFA Player of the Year. The following year, he scored 42 goals, won another league title, and helped United win the Champions League, scoring in the final.

One of his most famous moments came in 2009 when he scored a stunning long-range goal against Porto, earning the first FIFA Puskas Award for the best goal of the year. His time at Manchester United ended with a record-breaking move to Real Madrid for £80 million.

At Real Madrid, Ronaldo continued to break records, becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer with 450 goals. He also helped the team win multiple titles, including the Champions League and La Liga. In 2016, he celebrated a major international victory when Portugal won the European Championship, even though he had to leave the final due to injury.

Ronaldo’s career highlights include winning his fifth Ballon d’Or in 2017 and scoring an incredible overhead kick goal against Juventus in the Champions League. He also set the record for the most international goals in men’s football in 2021, surpassing the previous record of 109 goals.

After reaching 900 career goals in 2024, Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr, where he continues to add to his impressive tally. With his retirement from international play, he closes a 23-year chapter with Portugal but remains focused on achieving the historic milestone of 1,000 career goals.
