Defence Minister Teams Up with Little Miss Nigeria to Enhance Child Safety

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has announced a partnership with Little Miss Nigeria 2026, Queen Aisha Salau Audu, to improve children’s safety and security across Nigeria. This commitment was made during a visit from Queen Aisha on Thursday, where she discussed her advocacy for children’s rights and welfare.

During their meeting, Musa expressed his support for Aisha’s initiative, emphasizing the need to create a safe environment for children to learn and grow. The partnership aims to boost collaboration between the Little Miss Nigeria platform and various stakeholders in the defence and security sectors, focusing on raising awareness about threats to children such as violence, abuse, and exploitation.

Queen Aisha, who won the Little Miss Nigeria 2026 competition, has made children’s protection a key part of her mission. She aims to inspire collective action from government bodies, security agencies, parents, schools, and community organizations to safeguard children’s rights and improve their welfare. She believes that every child deserves a safe space, quality education, and the necessary protection to become responsible adults.

Accompanying Queen Aisha during her visit was Queen Virtuosa Ihechiziterem Ikemezuo-Chintuo, the first runner-up in the competition. Their presence highlighted the commitment of the pageant winners to use their platforms for social causes and contribute to the country’s development.

This visit is part of the Little Miss Nigeria 2026 queens’ efforts to address issues related to children’s rights, education, security, empowerment, and social responsibility. The Oladele John Nihi Foundation, which runs the Little Miss Nigeria project, helps young girls develop leadership skills and confidence while advocating for societal issues.
