Edo Governor Credits President Tinubu for Improved Security and Development
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has praised President Bola Tinubu for helping to improve security in the region. He made these comments during a visit to the Edo North Senatorial District, where he spoke to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of preparations for the 2027 elections.
During his tour, Okpebholo visited several local schools and community centers, emphasizing that the backing from President Tinubu has given him the strength to tackle issues like kidnapping and cultism. He noted that the improved security has allowed residents to return to their farms without fear.
Okpebholo also mentioned that the removal of the fuel subsidy has provided the state with more resources for development. He stated, “We pay salaries as and when due. We have successfully changed the narrative, and our people are enjoying practical governance.”
While on his tour, he observed some poor road conditions and promised to address these issues by directing the Commissioner for Works to take action.
Looking ahead to the 2027 presidential election, Okpebholo encouraged APC members to support President Tinubu’s re-election, asserting that there will be no vacancy in the presidency. He thanked party members for their support in previous elections and urged them to work hard in the upcoming campaign.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, also spoke at the event, urging Nigerians to back the APC, claiming the party has the experience needed for continued development. He dismissed the political ambitions of other candidates, suggesting their alliances would not benefit Nigeria.
Edo APC Chairman Jarrett Tenebe encouraged party members to focus on positive campaigning and grassroots efforts, highlighting the importance of supporting President Tinubu’s initiatives.
