Ekiti Governor Calls Opposition to Tinubu’s Re-election an Enemy of Nigeria
Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji has stated that anyone who opposes President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is an enemy of Nigeria. He made this declaration during a rally in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, where he praised Tinubu’s contributions to the state.
Oyebanji spoke at an event organized by Niger Delta leader High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, who presented over 20 vehicles to support Tinubu’s campaign. The governor emphasized that those campaigning for Tinubu’s re-election are working for the country’s progress.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu’s victory in the upcoming election is assured, stating, “The victory is not in contention; it is by how much.” He believes that grassroots support will lead to significant electoral success for the President.
Reflecting on his own recent electoral success, Oyebanji noted that he received around 85 percent of the votes in the June 2026 governorship election in Ekiti. He attributed his achievements to the support from the federal government, particularly from President Tinubu.
To show appreciation for Tinubu’s help, Oyebanji urged the people of Ekiti to aim for 90 percent voter turnout in the 2027 election. He warned against voter apathy and encouraged residents to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the election.
Representing Tompolo at the rally, High Chief Kestin Pondi reiterated the commitment to mobilize support for Tinubu’s re-election. He argued that the President deserves another term to continue his economic reforms, which he believes are already showing positive results.
